Aloha!
What a treat finding this site! I used to live on Oahu back in the late 50's, B4 Hawaii became a state, and how I miss it's beauty and most beautiful, soothing music. One can never be stressed when listening to those breezy tunes. We lived on the beaches, one of them looking out on Rabbit Island (? it was so long ago, I think that's the name)... on the Marine Base (Kaniohe?) My 2 brothers were born there in Honolulu. After moving to No. Virginia in '61, I've yearned to return, tho' I know it's different from when I left. I remember the hula lessons I took, and the parades and bright colors everywhere - what happy memories. I've even ordered Hawaiian plants to grow here, just so I can keep the island flavor close...one Hawaiian fern is doing quite well. One day, I'm going to bring my husband for a visit since he's never been - he esp. wants to see Pearl Harbor' memorials...and maybe by then, we'll be able to see the Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame. I will send on this info to a friend of mine (whose brother lives in the islands & works with Dept of Agriculture, so he may know of some prime land locations to check out). Also, I'm a calligrapher so if and when you need any artistry of that type for picture titles, certificates or awards, I'd love to help out. Best of Luck!
Hope to get back soon! (and get some more of those awesome macadamia chocolates! yummm....)
