I am trying to find a Hapahaole song written or sung by Mrytle K Hilo. The song was about a broken down car. Words to the effect, "Will you love me when my carburator is busted...etc." The song has english words with Hawaiin lyrics included. Similar to the type of song, "The Mayor of Kauna....., or Pretty Maui Girl." It's a humorous old, old song. Aloha Joe radio may have located the singer, but the source of the song, for playing and listening purposes, is what I need. Ps. It's one of those songs you have in your memory, but you cannot finish it. Thanks to the person who gets back to me.

The title of the song you are inquiring about is "Will You Love Me?" It's a novelty song rather than a hapa-haole song. It was originally recorded by George Naope on one of the early 49th State Record Co. recordings in the 1940's (George Naope would again be released on 49th State in the 1950's). Myrtle K. Hilo did a remake of this song in the late 1960's on her first long play 33 1/3 RPM recording that took its title after this song.

I'm looking for a song from my childhood but don't remember the title. I think Aunty Myrtle was the artist. The last line of the song is "Aunty Clara is the brand new champ, and she's the bull of Bet'l Street! Honolulu, U S A!" Much Mahalo!
