While the list is lacking the star power of Keali'i Reichel, The Brothers Cazimero, Ho'okena, etc., there is still many excellent releases on the list Good luck to all nominees. Gypsy Pacific's "Wela" is listed in the Contemporary World Music category, which is very curious. The songs are mostly Hawaiian standards and contemporary songs, and musically it is more jazz than world music. Still looking for other Hawai'i releases under different categories. Slight -- but important -- correction is required. This is a list of _entries_, not nominees. From this list, voting members of NARAS (which hosts the Grammy Awards show), will select 5 to be the official _nominees_ for the final Hawaiian Music category ballot. Eligible NARAS members will then cast one vote -- with the recipient of the Award to be announced at next year's show. |
