I am looking for any information about my grandfather David Nalu, he was one of the "Hawaiian Serenaders" that played with Andy Cummings. I have an article from about 1948 that has 5 young men, they're: Andy Cummings, Gabby Pahinui, Joe Diamond, Ralph Alapai and my grandfather David Nalu who is playing the steel guitar. If anyone knows of any songs or recordings, or any information about the group and is willing to share it, it would be greatly appreciated.

The article you mention, where is it taken from and what is its exact publication date? Does the photo purport to be the members of The Hawaiian Serenaders, or is it a pick-up group? I'd really like to see this photo. I wonder if it's the same personnel who recorded under the name for Bell Records in the late 40s/early 50s?
If it is I can give you a list of all the records David Nalu may have played on, but you'll have to take it from there.
Have you spoken with Harry Soria, Jr.?
Aloha,
Malcolm R
