I totally agree about David Keli'i having been one of Hawai'i's greatest steel guitar artists - there was another, outstanding player - David "Feet" Rodgers - I have never heard anyone else quite like him...he could make his steel "cry"...(and everyone else listening.)

His style was totally unique - I was at a party in Nui Valley about 20 years ago or so and heard this haole boy from Kaua'i playing the steel. Barefoot and very "local"...I listened and after I said "you know I 'hear' Feet Rodgers when you play." He replied "I learned from him"....his name is Fred Lundt. FABULOUS!!! You can "learn" how to play an instrument, but when your very soul is in your playing....oh my! Fred has "it"!!! Mahalo. (BTW, you can hear his steel on the CD "Napali")
