Welina me ke aloha,

I am enjoying the recently released CD by the
Lim Family, " Na Mele No Na Hanauna."
"Sweet Ka Makani, Ke Kaiaulu" from the
William Hook Collection is one of the mele offered in this wonderful CD. The hui;

Wai o ka niu, wai o ka niu
Niu haohao, niu haohao
Ua hiki mai, aia i ka poli
O Manokalanipo

I have searched my limited personal references and resources and have not found any info on
William Hook, nor have I found any poetic reference to "Water of the coconut..." Does anyone have info on William Hook and or the reference to "Wai o ka niu..."?

me ke mahalo nui,

e Keali'i

You might be able to get more information from the Lim `ohana themselves. The last email address I had for Lorna Lim was: puukapu@interpac.net
