| first of all...this name does not sound very kind to the child. in hawaii names have power and mana and are not given lightly, at least amung traditional people such as myself. my children were named while they were still in the womb according to strict cultural beleifs, and given by a family member and not myself in all good consciouse, o name your daughter after one of my most important dieties, Pele, would be a high insult. our pele, to us is alive and breaths. She is a very important godess. For Your child to be named an old doormat volcano..would not be proper. please get a book of christianized hawaiian names for your child and mname her more appropriately as this name would not be very good for any child. something simple like"...flower, or rain, or ocea.n...these names are fine...pua, kai, nani, ui, anything but what you just said there. not good. i am sorry to say it, as a loving freind might say to you. smiles with aloha punohu keeping it real in the hawaiian homelands |
