I see no reason why Arthur Lyman is not in the Hall of Fame...he made a fantastic impression on millions of viewers of Hawaiian Eye..as a recording artist and enovator of tropical music and no one I have ever met was better on the Zylophone than Arthur Lyman. A son of Hawaii, though rought with problems...was no less a great musican of Hawaiian ancestry. I consider him one of my many friends that I have met in my 34 years in Hawaii. Arthur Lyman is deceased...before his time...but, the time to honor him is now.

Induction, or none, Arthur was/is indeed right there with all the greats of Hawaiian music.

He was a nice guy, and taken way too soon!

Hawai'i is so full of fine musicians who should be honored in some way, it may take several generations to come to honor them all!

The criteria for selecting Hall of Fame honorees is precise; the Advisory Board make the final decisions --among that stellar group are Nina Keali'iwahamana, Mahiai Beamer. You'll find the whole Board listed in the lefthand sidebar on the main HMHF "Home" page.

I liked Arthur Lyman's music too. Popularity, however, is not one of the criterions, a list of which I beleive are listed elsewhere in the HMHF pages.
