On july 11 2007,early in the morning, Theo Ehrlicher the former hawaiian guitarist of the Kilima Hawaiians, passed away at the blessed age of 91. He was still teaching guitar and hawaiian guitar till the very end.
He taught many people how to play guitar, but most of hawaiian guitar. He was regarded as one of the best hawaiian guitarist in Europ

THEO EHRLICHER WAS MY ROLEMODEL IN MY YOUNGER DAYS WHEN I STUDIED THE STEELGUITAR IN GERMANY.I HAD ALL HIS RECORDS WITH THE KILIMA HAWAIIANS AND I SAW HIM WHEN THEY CAME TO MY HOMETOWN, BERLIN.LATER I LIVED IN THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS FROM 1955 TO 1968 AND I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO LISTEN TO MANY STEELGUITARISTS.
YOU SAY THEO EHRLICHER WAS ONE OF THE BEST IN EUROPE.
HE WAS ONE OF THE BEST ANYWHERE, HE WAS ONE OF A KIND.
YOU ARE FORTUNATE THAT HE WAS YOUR TEACHER.KEEP UP HIS LEGACY AND GOOD LUCK !

I feel so happy to read your few words concerning my father and just only wanted to thank you, to keep him in memory as one of the greatest guitarist....
Tomorrow I will celebrate already 1 year that my dad is gone and I feel very sad today.
Thanks for your nice words
Iris
