Benny Kalama was my cousin, my mother Alana Pua Isabelle Kalama was Benny's aunty. My mother was born in the islands and came to settle in California. She raised 8 children and music and entertainment were her life. She appeared in the l932 version of Mutiney on the Bounty with Clark Gable. My sister Tani Marsh was well known in the Hawaiian entertainment of the l940's and 50's. Her husband Billy Bunkley (Tahitian dancer) appeared with her in two moviese. Tani also opened a dance studio in Hawaii in the l960s before she passed away. My other sister Tiara Jane Keller also appeared with Tani in a few movies. Blue Hawaii, Song of the Islands, Hurricane, and many tv dramas. This is a wonderful site and thank you for letting me visit. Aloha

William was my grandfather. One of his daughters was named Diane (Poura) she was born from him and one of his wives Wanda in San Francisco, CA. My mother has wanted to contact her family in the islands for many, many years. Does anyone know anything about this? If you do please contact me.

God Bless:

Aloha,
I am actually trying to find some family member or friend of Uncle Benny Kalama, that knew my grandfather, Joseph "Sonny" Nicholas. He was a Bass player and worked with Uncle Benny in the "Hawaii Calls" Radio show. Needed information for a school history project for my daughter. I would appreciate any information that anyone may have.
Thanks
MaRi
