I am confused on the subject of the chant/song, "No Ke Ano Ahiahi" and would appreciate any information. Most of the commentary I've found refers to King Lunalilo's voyage to the US, presumably San Francisco. Recently I was told by a local kumu hula that Lunalilo did not actually make the voyage in question. So, did this voyage take place, and when? Thanks very much, Fran |

Not trusting my rusty memory, I used google.com to search for information about Lunalilo. No mention of a voyage to San Francisco -- this site seemed to have the most information about him: http://www.aloha-hawaii.com/hawaii/king+lunalilo/ |

Thanks for taking the time, Auntie. I guess I'll have to incorporate some vague hand-waving into my liner notes. Fran |
